Foundation: 1959

Mission: The Catholic University of Temuco has been founded by the Catholic Church, in the spirit of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Church's teaching, to serve the society of Araucania and the southern macro region of the country, dedicating itself from its beginnings to "the very broad formation of future professionals, to the cultivation of ideas that open new paths to knowledge, and to research that perfects life and institutions, generating new horizons and possibilities for its people and its territories".

Vision: By the year 2020 the Catholic University of Temuco will be a regional university of excellence, nationally recognized for its academic quality, for its contribution to the solution of regional problems and the sustainable development of the Araucanía and the southern macro region, from a Christian conception of man and society.
