Mission: To create and disseminate new knowledge, and to integrally train suitable professionals in the scientific-technological field, in order to lead the development of the country and humanity. We carry out this mission by being a university community of excellence, which is vitalised by the diversity and independence of the processes of discovery and learning and which, in accordance with the testamentary will of Don Federico Santa María Carrera, places special emphasis on the integration of those who, meeting the conditions required by academic work, do not have sufficient material means.
Vision: To be a national and international scientific-technological reference, which, by bringing together a university community of excellence, stimulates the dissemination of knowledge and the creation of value, in all its areas of work, being recognized as a LEADING UNIVERSITY IN ENGINEERING, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY.

The following data gives a quick reading on the scientific performance in the last years. The research ranking refers to the volume, impact and quality of the institution's research output. The innovation ranking is calculated on the number of patent applications of the institution and the citations that its research output receives from patents. Finally, the societal ranking is based on the number of pages of the institution's website and the number of backlinks and mentions from social networks.
