Foundation: 1939

Mission: The National University of Cuyo is a Higher Education institution that, within the framework of local, national, Latin American and Caribbean, and international integration, has as its mission the construction of citizenship and the integral formation of artists, teachers, scientists, professionals, technologists and technicians for a fair society. It produces, develops, transfers and exchanges knowledge, practices and technologies in accordance with social demands and needs, with national and regional public policies and with scientific progress itself. Assumes education as a public good and free of charge, as a human right and as an obligation of the State and develops policies with principles of quality and relevance, which strengthen social inclusion, equal opportunities, integration in diversity and respect for cultural identities, in the full exercise of democratic principles and values.
