Mission: The Universidad de La Sabana, a Civil Institution of Higher Education, seeks to ensure that professors, students and other members of the university faculty freely commit themselves, in unity of life, with coherence of thought, word and action, to seek, discover, communicate and preserve the truth, in all fields of knowledge, based on a Christian conception of man and the world, as a contribution to the progress of society. It promotes respect for the transcendent dignity of the human person and, in an environment of responsible freedom, fosters the integral improvement of all members of the university community, with personalized attention and a creative, rigorous and interdisciplinary academic exercise. It also promotes the realization of work, lived as a service and a means to build a just, peaceful and supportive society. It relates to all sectors of society, and contributes with legitimate solutions to its multiple and complex problems, through interdisciplinary, competent and supportive work, which is the result of the articulated action of research and teaching, which aims at the common good, the coexistence and cooperation among men, without any discrimination, and the unconditional recognition of human life, the person and the family in society.

Vision: "The University projects its future, taking as its starting point its internal reality and the external forces that gravitate to the present. The future it formulates, affirms its Mission and expresses its goals and aspirations, in the medium and long term, as well as the way in which it hopes to be recognized. From this perspective: We want to make the University of La Sabana a focus of superior knowledge, of the first order, at the service of the person, the family and society. We want "to form learned men with a Christian sense of life. We want science rooted in the most solid principles to be cultivated in this environment, which is conducive to serene reflection, and for its light to be projected into all fields of knowledge. In order to reach this level of quality, we must bring together people of the highest possible qualifications, offer them the means for their ongoing formation and acquire the technical and economic resources that will enable us to carry out our mission. We want a University that is open to every person who wishes to come to it to prepare himself or herself with professional competence; that, valuing right judgment and coherence of life, with a decision to serve others, is capable of stimulating, through his or her work, the configuration of a more just and more humane society. We want a University in which the person, his needs and his aspirations for development in all areas are deeply valued. We also want a University in which all members of the academic community are committed to its mission and purposes. We want a University that is centred on its professors, that promotes research and humanistic, scientific, technical and artistic training and pedagogy. Professors who enjoy permanent opportunities for their development and improvement. We want a University in which all its professors and employees find the opportunities for their personal growth and for their work progress and the necessary means for a dignified and comfortable life, for them and for their families. We want a University that has students of the highest abilities, convinced of their academic project, with a critical capacity and with an adult and responsible vision of life. We want a University that is open to all people with the conditions required for higher education at the level of the University, regardless of their economic possibilities. We want a University that, without being apart from the conditioning and the reality in which it is inserted, becomes a permanent and valid interlocutor before the academic and scientific community and before the different sectors of society and culture; that promotes cooperation for the development of joint projects and programmes and the exchange of talents and resources. We want a University that is a beacon that illuminates and spreads, from a Christian perspective, seriously structured thought in all fields of knowledge. We want a University whose commitment to the development of knowledge provides solutions to major problems and helps to respond to the new demands and needs of society. We want a University that is open to the transmission of knowledge, ready to give the best opportunities and that makes education a permanent and flexible process".
