Mission: Mission To further knowledge of the ecology of wild marine and terrestrial vertebrates and understand the causes of changes in their populations: explain adaptive strategies used by individuals to maximise reproduction, and their relationship to resource acquisition and allocation strategies. monitor long-term trends in populations and understand the mechanisms involved, both natural (e.g. environmental variability) and anthropogenic. To participate in training and in “science-society” debates: provide academic teaching (for Bachelors, Masters and Ph.D. students) in the field of ecology and biodiversity conservation. promote knowledge of ecology and conservation by linking evolutionary ecology to wildlife management as part of concrete initiatives designed to conserve endangered species populations and ensure sustainable management of their habitats; and disseminate this knowledge to the general public.
