Mission: The fundamental aim of the Company and the very justification of its existence consists in achieving the highest level of response to the demand for health, defined as the recovery and maintenance of physical, mental and social health, in a process that inseparably includes teaching, as a tool for building and improving the skills of operators and subjects in training and research, aimed at the continuous progress of clinical and biomedical knowledge. All the scientific and clinical skills of the University Departments in the biomedical area and those of the Health Service, as well as the teaching activities coordinated by the School of Human Health Sciences, contribute to achieving this objective. Through its action, the Company contributes to the achievement of the S.S.R. mission and contributes to its development.

The following data gives a quick reading on the scientific performance in the last years. The research ranking refers to the volume, impact and quality of the institution's research output. The innovation ranking is calculated on the number of patent applications of the institution and the citations that its research output receives from patents.
