Mission: The commitment of the Ignacio Chavez National Institute of Cardiology is to provide high specialty cardiovascular care with quality to the population, preferably to those who lack social security; also, develops cutting-edge research and trains specialists in cardiology and related branches. The fulfillment of these functions has been an instrument of social and human aid that fights for the prevention of cardiopathies and helps in the integral rehabilitation of the patients.
Vision: To continue as an institution of national leadership in the field of cardiology, with respect and international presence, being a model of public organization that channels with opportunity and efficiency the available resources to guarantee the fulfillment of the institutional objectives, which will facilitate us to evolve to the rhythm of the vertiginous changes of the international environment.

The following data gives a quick reading on the scientific performance in the last years. The research ranking refers to the volume, impact and quality of the institution's research output.
