Foundation: 1984

Mission: Initial and continuing education, vocational guidance and integration, research and innovation, international cooperation, economic and social involvement... Le Havre Normandie University is fully committed to all of its missions. As for all universities, they have been redefined by the law of 22 July 2013: initial training, lifelong learning, scientific and technological research and the valorisation of its results, innovation and technology transfer, guidance and vocational integration, dissemination of culture and scientific and technical information, the social responsibility of the institution, participation in the construction of the European Higher Education and Research Area, international cooperation. Although Le Havre Normandie University is committed to all these obligations, it has made student success one of its priorities. Thus, it did not wait for professional integration to be enshrined in law before taking up this objective by creating, as early as 1995, an office for professional integration and employment. Similarly, it was concerned from an early stage with its social mission and the role it must play in its territory.
