Mission: The CNRST's missions are closely related to the new orientations entrusted to it. In particular, it will be responsible for: • implementing research and technological development programs within the framework of the choices and priorities set by the government supervisory authority; • contribute to the dissemination of scientific and technical information, and to the publication of research work and to ensure technological watch work; • assist in strengthening the national research infrastructure; • provide services for the benefit of research operators and contribute to the promotion and transfer of research results; • establish association agreements or contracts, within the framework of research activities or services, with public or private research establishments and organizations; • create synergies between the various research teams working on priority themes (networks, centers of expertise); • carry out the evaluation and ensure the follow-up of all research activities or services in which it is involved.

The following data gives a quick reading on the scientific performance in the last years. The research ranking refers to the volume, impact and quality of the institution's research output. The innovation ranking is calculated on the number of patent applications of the institution and the citations that its research output receives from patents. Finally, the societal ranking is based on the number of pages of the institution's website and the number of backlinks and mentions from social networks.
The result of the evaluation of the institution can be compared to obtain a view of the country, the region to which it belongs and the institutions of the world, placing it in their respective positions.
