Foundation: 1982

Mission: "The AU ensures the public service missions of higher education and research that the State entrusts to universities in accordance with Article L123-3 of the Education Code. Within this framework, the AU ensures the development of its students, in particular by implementing the means necessary for their success and their participation in the life of the institution. The AU participates in the development and growth of the areas where it is established, in particular through its contribution to the design and implementation of regional schemes for higher education, research and innovation. The AU also participates in the international influence of the French university, particularly in its Caribbean environment, through training-research partnerships with its counterparts".
