Mission: The work of the Virgen Macarena University Hospital, in its commitment to the Andalusian Public Health System, will be carried out from the base with the participation of everyone and will seek to improve the level of health of citizens, and their satisfaction, meeting their expectations, ensuring continuity of care, doing so efficiently, in line with available resources and the characteristics of our population, constituting a hospital based on knowledge, skills and abilities of professionals of recognized prestige and will be autonomous national and international reference.
Vision: -The Virgen Macarena University Hospital is a centre of excellence at the service of citizens, integrating all aspects of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases that require specialised care based on the best available evidence, in an efficient manner, responding to citizens' expectations and promoting continuity in health care.

-They collaborate and actively participate in the definition of strategies of the Andalusian Public Health System, in the achievement of sustainability, through leadership in policies of expenditure containment, as well as the promotion of teaching and research and innovation.

-Leadership in applied and translational clinical research.
-Close collaboration with Primary Care to establish forms, protocols, referral criteria and shared management of patients, ensuring continuity of care.
-Leadership in the organization of both theoretical and practical teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels, continuing education
-Leadership in promoting citizen participation.
-Leadership in the implementation of national and European centres, services or reference units.
