Mission: As an educational space for higher education, the Universidad Pablo de Olavide is at the service of society and defines itself as a place for reflection and critical thinking committed to contributing to progress, to teaching respect for fundamental rights and public freedoms, to promoting equality between women and men, solidarity and human values and to responding to the needs and problems of contemporary society. The University will seek the broadest social projection of its activities, establishing for this purpose channels of collaboration and assistance to society in order to contribute to and support social, economic and cultural progress. Likewise, it will promote and encourage the participation of the members of its university community in activities and projects of international cooperation and solidarity, as well as the implementation of activities and initiatives that contribute to the promotion of equality between men and women, permanent support for people with special needs, the culture of peace, sustainable development and respect for the environment. Vision: The IV Strategic Plan 2017-2020 of the Universidad Pablo de Olavide is currently being approved by the University Senate. Under the slogan UPOProyecta, the new strategic plan of the UPO has been elaborated based on five major strategies, global and transversal, which will help to achieve our vision of university 2020. The Universidad Pablo de Olavide will be a university community capable of attracting and promoting talent in order to consolidate its leadership as a reference point for transforming social commitment from its vocation of public service, contributing to the achievement of a more just, egalitarian and inclusive society. It will address the process of digital transformation in its administrative management processes and in its online teaching in order to become an internationalised university open to the world.

The following data gives a quick reading on the scientific performance in the last years. The research ranking refers to the volume, impact and quality of the institution's research output. The innovation ranking is calculated on the number of patent applications of the institution and the citations that its research output receives from patents. Finally, the societal ranking is based on the number of pages of the institution's website and the number of backlinks and mentions from social networks.
The result of the evaluation of the institution can be compared to obtain a view of the country, the region to which it belongs and the institutions of the world, placing it in their respective positions.
