Mission: The University of A Coruña aims to contribute to the cultural, social and economic progress of society through the generation, management and dissemination of culture and scientific, technological and professional knowledge. The University of A Coruña conceives its mission as a public, Galician and quality service. It is part of the mission of the University of A Coruña to form an open, educated, critical, committed, democratic, cooperative and supportive citizenship, capable of analyzing reality, diagnosing problems, and proposing and implementing solutions based on knowledge and oriented towards the common good. These are functions of the University in the service of society: The creation, development, transmission and criticism of science, technology and culture Preparation for professional activities requiring the application of scientific and artistic methods and knowledge The dissemination, enhancement and transfer of knowledge in the service of culture, quality of life and economic development The dissemination of knowledge and culture through university extension and lifelong learning.

Vision: By the year 2020, the SVP aspires to be A university that approaches society to be able to understand its needs and respond to changes in its environment. A university that collaborates with all social agents and public and private entities to study, diagnose and provide solutions to the challenges posed by society. A university that generates channels of participation in solidarity and is committed to sustainable development and the environment through innovation. The UDC also aims to be: An educational institution that offers training that is adjusted to the present and future needs of our environment and also responds to learning that is adapted to the individualized progress of the student by promoting innovative and effective teaching methodologies in the acquisition of the skills and competencies required by the degrees. A teaching institution involved, beyond the integral training of people, in the development of the competences that improve the employability of its students in the local, state and international environments. A university that promotes the creation and development of state and international networks of basic and applied research groups that contribute to scientific, technological, economic and social progress. A university recognised for the transfer of its research results through innovative initiatives to enhance the value of the technical and scientific services it has and offers in its Technology Park.
