Mission: The Unit of Planning, Organization and Methods, as a unit organically attached to the Rectory of the UACh, contributes to the promotion and establishment of the processes of planning and permanent evaluation of the institutional development and management in accordance with the university principles and the legal framework that give validity and relevance to the UACh. It participates in the elaboration and development of planning instruments and practices and promotes consensus that favors the harmonious and effective development with the levels of quality that contribute to the fulfillment of the institutional objectives established in the legal framework and derived from its autonomous and democratic character. It studies and follows up on the organization and organizational structure, as well as on the substantive functions and institutional processes through statistics and the systematization of information.
Vision: It promotes, through a comprehensive planning system that adheres to the democratic and autonomous principles established in its legal framework, practices and decisions capable of contributing to the full achievement of institutional goals. Through a model of balanced development of academic functions and adjectives, where continuous improvement, efficiency and quality are shared principles that guide the actions of the University, promoting full recognition of their achievements and services by the university community and society in general. To support the planning system, it maintains a continuous process of study on the university model and its organization, through the maintenance of updated information systems of the substantive and adjective functions.

The following data gives a quick reading on the scientific performance in the last years. The research ranking refers to the volume, impact and quality of the institution's research output. The innovation ranking is calculated on the number of patent applications of the institution and the citations that its research output receives from patents. Finally, the societal ranking is based on the number of pages of the institution's website and the number of backlinks and mentions from social networks.
