Vision: In 2018, the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez is a highly efficient institution in the training of citizens with a high level of social commitment and professional competitiveness; it provides ample opportunities for access to and permanence in higher education; it is a reference point for the generation and dissemination of knowledge in northern Mexico; it contributes to the diversification of economic activities by promoting the application of the results of scientific and technological research in local businesses; and it improves the quality of life in the Paso del Norte region through a permanent agenda of recreational, cultural and sports activities in which institutional values are instilled and promoted

The innovation ranking is calculated on the number of patent applications of the institution and the citations that its research output receives from patents. Finally, the societal ranking is based on the number of pages of the institution's website and the number of backlinks and mentions from social networks.
