Mission: The Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez is a public, autonomous institution with the mission of creating, conserving and transmitting knowledge; embodying, inculcating and promoting values that recognize: The Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez is an autonomous public institution whose mission is to create, preserve and transmit knowledge, embody, inculcate and promote values that recognize: the country's identity and cultural diversity; equal coexistence between men and women; the free dissemination of ideas; the adoption of healthy habits and practices; civic, supportive and informed participation, with the aim of training internationally competitive professionals through quality educational programmes; scientific research relevant to the regional environment; consolidated academic bodies; infrastructure that facilitates access to knowledge and self-directed learning; permanent cultural dissemination programmes; and a certified, socially responsible, inclusive, sustainable and violence-free organization.

Vision: In 2018, the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez is a highly efficient institution in the training of citizens with a high level of social commitment and professional competitiveness; it provides ample opportunities for access to and permanence in higher education; it is a reference point for the generation and dissemination of knowledge in northern Mexico; it contributes to the diversification of economic activities by promoting the application of the results of scientific and technological research in local businesses; and it improves the quality of life in the Paso del Norte region through a permanent agenda of recreational, cultural and sports activities in which institutional values are instilled and promoted
