Mission: La Fondazione pone a fondamento della propria attività l’amore per il prossimo e per la vita, anche la più fragile e svantaggiata, ispirandosi costantemente ad una visione personalistica integrale dell’uomo, alla luce dell’antropologia cristiana.
Vision: Il modo in cui la Fondazione Stella Maris si rapporta alla propria missione è coerente espressione da un lato delle radici cristiane dell’Istituzione, così come esse si concretizzarono nell’opera del suo fondatore spirituale, Monsignor Aladino Cheti, dall’altro dell’approccio alla patologia neuropsichiatrica nell’età infantile che informa l’impostazione data sin dalle origini da quello che a buon diritto può considerarsi il suo fondatore scientifico, il prof. Pietro Pfanner. L’approccio seguito dai professionisti che operano all’interno della Fondazione Stella Maris si caratterizza e si qualifica per due tratti distintivi: – l’atteggiamento del prendersi cura piuttosto che curare, con lo spirito di carità che della Fondazione è sostanza; – l’approccio olistico che il prof. Pfanner aveva interiorizzato nella sua esperienza francese, che negli anni 50 era stato un laboratorio di sperimentazione di un nuovo modo di rapportarsi alla malattia psichiatrica, dando particolare rilievo alla dimensione relazionale dell’individuo e considerandone i comportamenti non solo espressione di effetti organicistici ma di reciproca interazione con il contesto familiare, scolastico e sociale.
