Foundation: 2006

Mission: Our mission is to be a centre where collaboration and cooperation between biomedical and clinical research groups are prioritised and furthered, in which special emphasis is placed on aspects of genetic, molecular, biochemical and cell research of rare, genetic or acquired diseases. The aim is to improve our knowledge on epidemiology, the causes and mechanisms for production of rare diseases. This research is the basis for providing new tools for diagnosis and therapy of rare diseases, backing translational or transfer research between the scientific medium of the laboratory and the clinical medium of healthcare centres.
