Mission: Our mission is to be a centre where collaboration and cooperation between biomedical and clinical research groups is prioritised and encouraged, with special emphasis on the genetic, molecular, biochemical and cellular research aspects of rare, genetic or acquired diseases. The aim is to improve our knowledge of the epidemiology, causes, and production mechanisms of rare diseases. This research is the basis for providing new tools for the diagnosis and therapy of rare diseases, favouring translational research between the scientific environment of the laboratory and the clinical environment of health centres.
