Foundation: 1992

Mission: The IRCCS Bonino Pulejo carries out its activity focused on translational clinical research in the field of "Neuroscience" in the prevention, recovery and treatment of severe cerebral lesions acquired on the basis of annual and multi-year programs shared by the Directorates, Scientific and General, for the planning of research and assistance activities of which the Directorates, Health and Administration, ensure the implementation. The activities maintain the aim of research in the biomedical field and in the organization of health services, innovation in assistance models and knowledge transfer, together with high level health services. With the merging of the IRCCS Centro Neurolesi Bonino Pulejo Neurolesi Bonino Pulejo with the Piemonte Hospital, the mission is divided into the activities carried out for Emergency-Urgency, Rehabilitation, Protected Resignation, Home Telecare and Telemedicine Services.

Vision: AMONG THE LONG-TERM OBJECTIVES, SET BY THE NEUROSCIENTISTS IRCCS "BONINO PULEJO" TO INDICATE THE PROJECTION OF A FUTURE SCENARIO THAT REFLECTS ITS IDEALS AND VALUES, ARE LISTED: Acting in accordance with regional planning and/or with the general guidelines and coordination acts issued by the Sicilian Region and in compliance with the principles of information, consultation and consultation provided for in the collective health and health collective agreements; Define in a clear, shared, adequate and efficient way the organizational structures, responsibilities and related contents also in the light of Regional Law no. 5 of 14 April 2009 "Regulations for the reorganisation of the Regional Health Service"; Manage resources by adopting criteria of effectiveness, efficiency and equity, encouraging the participation of health workers and people in the definition of choices and evaluation of results; To compete, in collaboration with other subjects, institutional and not, for the promotion, maintenance and development of the health status of its reference population; Define the qualitative and quantitative level of its services, after a continuous monitoring of the health needs of the territory and users; Model its activity to criteria of clinical and organizational appropriateness; Integrate the health care offer with the development of care and care pathways, from the emergency phase (in synergy with the 118 territorial reference centres) to the recovery and rehabilitation phase; Promote the integrated management of social-healthcare activities through networks of services and specific clinical-assistance pathways, for the taking care of chronic diseases; Coordinate translational research activities with care services ensuring the direct application of innovations on the latter; Define and develop interventions and programs for the reduction of clinical risk; Promote the permanent development of training and research activities, integrated with health promotion interventions, which are essential to ensure the constant innovation of the system.
