Mission: INRAT is a public institution under the supervision of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Environment and attached to IRESA (Institution for Research and Higher Education in Agriculture). Its missions are as follows: Organize, execute and publish all research and experimentation work relating to the improvement of techniques for plant and animal production. Collect and study all genetic resources whose use and cultivation is of interest to countries. Create plant varieties and improve animal breeds adapted to Tunisian conditions. Improve production systems by developing appropriate techniques and methods. Study the conservation, processing and use of agricultural products. Carry out any research of a physical, economic and sociological nature of interest to the rural environment and its environment. Contribute to the transfer of technology and provide support for extension and demonstration activities, by making available to administrative services, professional bodies and specialized institutes the knowledge and technologies likely to be popularized. Participate in the training and supervision of students, in particular at the level of post-graduate studies as well as at the level of the development of agricultural technicians and provide, where appropriate, appropriate education in higher agricultural education establishments in Tunisia and abroad.
