Mission: The mission of “1 Decembrie 1918” University of Alba Iulia, assumed by the University Charter and enshrined in the name of the institution, is defined, in its essential dimensions, by the national and European significance of the municipality of Alba Iulia and the area. The University's mission derives from the richness and value of the historical, scientific and cultural treasure accumulated and preserved in Alba Iulia and is justified by the need to recover and capitalize on the cultural-historical tradition and human potential by preparing the young generation, developing scientific research and creating values, diminishing and, gradually, eliminating the gap between Alba Iulia as a national and European symbol, respectively Alba Iulia as a social, scientific and cultural reality.
