Mission: The Federal University of the Southern Frontier has a mission: 1. Ensure access to higher education as a decisive factor for the development of the Mesoregion Grand Frontier Mercosur, professional qualification and social inclusion; 2. Develop teaching, research and extension activities, seeking the interaction and integration of the cities and states that make up the Mesoregion Grand Border Mercosur and its surroundings; 3. Promote integrated regional development - an essential condition to guarantee the permanence of graduated citizens in the Mesoregion Grand Frontier Mercosur and the reversal of the coastalisation process currently underway.

The following data gives a quick reading on the scientific performance in the last years. The research ranking refers to the volume, impact and quality of the institution's research output. The innovation ranking is calculated on the number of patent applications of the institution and the citations that its research output receives from patents. Finally, the societal ranking is based on the number of pages of the institution's website and the number of backlinks and mentions from social networks.
