Mission: Generate, adapt, disseminate and transfer knowledge with a view to scientific, economic and social development in strategic and priority areas of the Ministry of Health, jointly developing basic and applied research activities, reference services, training of human resources, technological development and innovation aimed at contribute to the promotion of public health and the scientific and technological development of the country.

Vision: To be recognized as a center of excellence in scientific and technological research, in the training of human resources at postgraduate level and in the development of products of interest to the SUS, contributing to the scientific, economic and social development of the country.
