Mission: To promote and consolidate the biomedical research and innovation activities of the groups that make up the Institute, thus building an organization of excellence where scientific knowledge is generated for health care practice and the improvement of citizens' health, through the promotion of basic, clinical and translational research activities, the encouragement of innovation, as well as the training and recognition of professionals, all of which is based on dynamic management of resources and capabilities.
Vision: To be an organization of scientific excellence with international visibility, which carries out research in networks and which bets on innovation, technological development and the evaluation of health results, developing sustainable research and promoting gender equality.
The following data gives a quick reading on the scientific performance in the last years. The research ranking refers to the volume, impact and quality of the institution's research output. The innovation ranking is calculated on the number of patent applications of the institution and the citations that its research output receives from patents. Finally, the societal ranking is based on the number of pages of the institution's website and the number of backlinks and mentions from social networks.
The result of the evaluation of the institution can be compared to obtain a view of the country, the region to which it belongs and the institutions of the world, placing it in their respective positions.
