Foundation: 2019

Mission: The mission of the Hellenic Mediterranean University, as a public University, lies primarily in the following axes: (a) quality education of students, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level, (b) conducting systematic, qualitative research and the implementation of high-level doctoral studies, (c) constant interaction with society, institutions and the 2 productive forces of the country, as well as (d) cultivating in students and in society the principles of democracy, equality, progress, social cohesion s, of solidarity and justice. (a) Education : Systematic upgrading of study programs with an emphasis on developments in science, the application of new technologies and modern teaching methods. Interaction with social, professional and economic bodies to adapt the study programs to the contemporary needs of society and the economy at local, national and international levels. Internationalization of studies and a systematic effort to increase the international mobility of students and staff. (b) Research: Strengthening research by claiming research programs, renewing infrastructures, sharing research infrastructures at local, national and international levels. Promotion of laboratories, Institutes and the University Research Center into centers of research excellence that will attract and support young researchers and promote the University at national and international level. (c) Interconnection with society and the economy : Continuous interaction with the social, self-governing and productive bodies with the aim on the one hand of utilizing the knowledge produced at the University by society and on the other hand of osmosis of the members of the University community with the issues and real problems that concern society and the economy. (d) Cultivation of principles: The University over time must contribute in all ways to the cultivation of the principles of democracy, equality and social justice in students and in society. This effort must be sustained through actions, interventions and events in the university and social space.

Vision: The Hellenic Mediterranean University aims to develop dynamically in the coming years, in order to become an academic Institution of reference in the Greek area, in the Mediterranean and in South-Eastern Europe. A University that, in the context of its vision, will seek: - Student-centered, quality education with the application of modern teaching methods and new technologies. - Excellence in research with the aim of producing new scientific knowledge, involving more undergraduate and postgraduate students in the research process. - Strengthening and upgrading administrative services, through digital transformation, for the benefit of education and research. - The extroversion and interconnection of the University with society and the productive forces of the country, with the aim of transferring new knowledge & technology, developing innovative products and services for the benefit of society. - The internationalization of the University, with an emphasis on the institution of European Universities and the significant increase in the mobility of students and staff. - The creation of a democratic, solidarity-based university environment with respect for the values of the free movement of opinions and ideas, with an emphasis on actions to support students, especially the socially vulnerable in situations of crisis and social exclusion.
