Mission: The fundamental mission of Gafsa University is to: -Develop and disseminate knowledge with a view to building a knowledge-based economy, -Strengthen the employability of graduates as part of the partnership with the socio-economic environment, -Improve scientific, cultural and professional knowledge, through face-to-face training, work-study training and on-demand training in order to provide lifelong learning opportunities. -Participate in the development of scientific and technological research in areas of excellence as well as the dissemination and enhancement of its results. -Provide students with training adapted to the needs of the economic and social, national and international environment.

The following data gives a quick reading on the scientific performance in the last years. The research ranking refers to the volume, impact and quality of the institution's research output. The innovation ranking is calculated on the number of patent applications of the institution and the citations that its research output receives from patents. Finally, the societal ranking is based on the number of pages of the institution's website and the number of backlinks and mentions from social networks.
