Foundation: 1986

Mission: The National Center for Microbiology (CNM) has the entrusted mission of providing support to the National Health System and the Autonomous Regions in the diagnosis and control of Infectious Diseases. To fulfill this mission, the CNM acts as a Reference Laboratory through the carrying out of scientific activities: - Primary diagnosis in human infections. - Maintenance of surveillance programs based on the phenotypic and molecular characterization of microorganisms. - Basic and applied research in Infectious Diseases - Microbiological alerts and rapid response - Formation programs.
