Mission: Contribute to the full and healthy development of all members of society, through the identification of the factors that produce inequity in access to health services. Likewise, from a gender perspective, help to improve health conditions through the generation and dissemination of knowledge about the health-disease process and its determinants; and promote the translation of said knowledge into a direct benefit for the community, as well as reference material for health decision makers.
Vision: To become a national and international reference center for the development of research by mission in the population sphere, incorporating an integrating perspective of practice and teaching in public health, as well as in health promotion and disease prevention, to the permanent search for excellence and scientific relevance at the service of the community.
The following data gives a quick reading on the scientific performance in the last years. The research ranking refers to the volume, impact and quality of the institution's research output. The innovation ranking is calculated on the number of patent applications of the institution and the citations that its research output receives from patents. Finally, the societal ranking is based on the number of pages of the institution's website and the number of backlinks and mentions from social networks.
