Foundation: 1970

Mission: Its mission is to develop and strengthen national scientific, technological and innovation capacities by supporting projects directly linked to research in science and humanities, technological development, innovation, specialized and highly qualified training of the academic and research community, protection of knowledge and universal access to knowledge and its benefits, as well as open access to the information generated by the projects supported.

Vision: The Council's vision is to be the Mexican State's entity that promotes research in the sciences and humanities, technological modernization and development, as well as innovation; advises the public administration on these matters, and specializes in articulating the Federal Government's relative public policies.
