Mission: To contribute to social equity and to the full realization of the right to health protection through the generation and dissemination of knowledge, the training of human resources of excellence and innovation in multidisciplinary research for the development of evidence-based public policies.
Vision: The National Institute of Public Health is the reference research and teaching center in Mexico and has a high impact in Latin America. It is a leader in the comprehensive training of the public health workforce and in the generation of benchmark knowledge required for the formulation, organization, and conduct of public health policies.

The innovation ranking is calculated on the number of patent applications of the institution and the citations that its research output receives from patents.
