Mission: To produce, disseminate and share knowledge and technologies aimed at strengthening and consolidating the Single Health System (SUS) and that contribute to the promotion of health and quality of life for the Brazilian population, to the reduction of social inequalities and to the national dynamic of innovation, with the defense of the right to health and broad citizenship as core values.

Vision: To be a public and strategic health institution, recognized by Brazilian society and other countries for its capacity to place science, technology, innovation, education, and technological production of services and strategic inputs for the promotion of population health, the reduction of inequalities and social inequities, the consolidation and strengthening of the SUS, and the development and improvement of public health policies.
